Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my appointment be?

Most appointments are either 30 or 55 minutes. An initial consultation for a new patient will be 55 minutes. Longer appointments are available on request.
How many appointments do I need?
Injury recovery varies from individual to individual, and our therapists will be able to give you an estimate after your initial assessment. Please note that these are for guidance and are entirely dependent on your exercise plan.
What do I wear to my initial consultation?
As therapists we need to look, feel and move the injured site to gain a deeper insight into your condition. We would advise bringing shorts, a thin top or vest that you can change into. These items may be asked to be removed if the area is not clear to the practitioner.
What do I need to bring to my consultation?
Upon booking you will receive a booking form, this provides us with information that may be required in the future such as GP details, emergency contacts along with consent to proceed with the appointment. Past medical history and paperwork of previous surgery or conditions are also useful for the practitioner to fully understand your condition even if it may seem irrelevant.
What is the difference between a sports therapist and physiotherapist?
Sports therapists predominantly look at MSK (musculoskeletal) conditions that involve muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, joints. Physiotherapists look deeper into other bodily systems such as respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. Sports therapists may be located within sports teams or clinics whereas Physiotherapists may also be found within hospitals and Gp practices.
